The spacious pre-school room encourages plenty of free choice for your child.  Children are able to access both the outdoors and indoors during ‘free-flow’ play.  

Adult-led activities are planned following observations carried out on your child so that they are appropriate to your child’s developmental needs.

Activities are also designed around the Early Years Foundation Stage and the six areas of learning which are:

• Personal, Social and Emotional Development
• Communication, Language and Literacy
• Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
• Knowledge and Understanding of the World
• Physical Development
• Creative Development

There are separate quiet areas for reading books and group play, while the large garden ensures the children receive lots of fresh air and ‘running about’ time.  The pre-schoolers also have access to their own woods to play in and explore, with its very own tee-pee and tree swing!

We actively encourage your child to partake in new experiences and get to know their local environment.  With your permission, outings to the library, post office, vets, parks, places of interest and short walks are all part of nursery life.

All activities in Pre-School help ensure that your child is confident and ready to take their next big step – starting ‘big’ school.

All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to up to 5 FREE 2 ½ hour sessions per week during term time.
